These video phones are unique appliances from D-Link that combine voice and video
transmission/reception over the broadband Internet. These phones integrate CMOS
cameras into them to capture and send speakers’ faces to the opposite sides, so callers
can watch each other’s actions while talking.
Designed for home and office use, these appliances provide a low-cost video conference
solution that operates without the need for any computer hardware and software. At two
remote places, users simply plug two videophones to the Internet to talk face-to-face
anywhere in the world.
D-Link videophones use the industry-standard H.323 protocol for video streaming
over the Internet. They can connect to any devices that use this standard for video
conferencing, and not just to other D-Link
videophones. For face-to-face talks, users
can also connect D-Link videophones to
other devices that use the popular Microsoft
web-based NetMeeting.
