The cable modems connect computers and remote routers to a broadband network,
providing a standard-based solution for high-speed Internet access. Theses devices bridge
radio-wave-like signals over the cable TV wiring to a standard Ethernet interface. Powered
by TurboDOX bandwidth acceleration software, the cable modems increase download
speeds at up to 20 times for home users’ enjoyment of popular Internet applications, such
as file sharing, audio and video streaming, Internet TV and website uploading.

D-Link cable modems make broadband connection more efficient and effective by clearing
network congestion, resulting in a boost in download speeds. Users get more out of their
broadband connection with increased bandwidth and enhanced performance. A single
downstream 6MHz television channel may support up to 38Mbps of downstream data
throughput from the cable head end using 64 QAM modulation, or 43Mbps downstream
data using 256QAM modulation technology.
With multiple channels, multiple users support, the cable modems can be used with a
wide range of applications, from residential (PCs, Internet gateways) to telecommuter
(notebooks, portable computers) and SOHO (routers, VoIP gateways).
